About Us

The Louisiana Optical Network Infrastructure (LONI) High Performance Computing (HPC) group serves as a cornerstone of Louisiana’s research cyberinfrastructure, providing advanced computing capabilities that support education, discovery, and innovation across disciplines. As part of LONI’s broader statewide technology environment, the group helps researchers and institutions access the computational power, technical expertise, and support services needed to carry out data-intensive and computationally demanding work.

Our mission is to promote scientific computing and emerging technologies in ways that expand research capacity and accelerate meaningful outcomes for higher education and research communities throughout Louisiana. Through production HPC resources, infrastructure support, and user-focused services, we enable faculty, staff, students, and collaborators to tackle complex challenges with speed, scale, and reliability.

LONI HPC also plays an important role in strengthening collaboration among member institutions by connecting researchers to shared systems, distributed expertise, and a statewide network designed for high-performance research and data movement. This integrated approach helps position Louisiana as a leader in advanced cyberinfrastructure while supporting work that ranges from fundamental scientific inquiry to applied research with real-world impact.

By combining robust infrastructure with responsive support and a commitment to research excellence, the LONI HPC group provides a dependable foundation for the computational needs of Louisiana’s academic and research community today and into the future.
